There have been 113 containers of seafood exported from the Khulna zone, out of which 108 containers were shrimps. During the month of November 2022, total USD 25.15 million worth of shrimp has been exported according to the source of EPB (Export Promotion Bureau). It’s USD 6.06 million less than the October, which was USD 31.21 million in total.
Reminding you that, the Export Promotion Bureau has set the target USD 500 million for FY 22-23. Now, by the end of November the total shrimp export value reached USD 165.46 million. Although, calculating the yearly target it was supposed to be USD 187.67 million. During the same time frame in FY 21-22, it was USD 231.44 million in total. So, the Bangladesh shrimp sector is lagging behind 16.63% from the current year target. If we compare it to the earlier year; the earnings fell behind 32.40%.
