Vannamei Shrimp

Whiteleg or Vannamei shrimp scientific name is Litopenaeus vannamei or L. vannamei. It is also known as Pacific white shrimp or King Prawn. This species of prawn is commonly caught in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

It’s now the most farmed shrimp species in the world. China, India, Vietnam, Thailand from South Asia and Brazil, Ecuador, Mexico from Latin America are the main suppliers of this species of shrimp around the globe.
