Now we are almost coming to an end of “Black Tiger shrimp Season” for the year 2022. The peak of the P. Monodon harvest is April – October. Though farmers who don’t use tidal water for their farming, may keep harvesting till the end of November.
This year rainfall wasn’t good enough or should say not in due time had an impact on the harvest. Eventually, farmers had a drop in production. Lack of water causes the heat and lowers the survival ratio.
According to the Ministry of Fisheries and livestock, Bangladesh exported 74,043 tons of frozen and live fish in FY 22, down by 3.32 per cent, which was 76,592 tons in FY 21. Export value shines but the volume pales.
Russia Ukraine war has a devastating impact on shrimp export and another reason for less export volume is Bangladesh’s domestic market demands. It has reached a new height. Almost every fish market across the country, Black Tiger shrimp has a prominent appearance.
In September, 2022; it were about 162 shrimp shipments made from the Khulna region of Bangladesh. Now let’s see some of the details of these shipments.
