Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Fisheries
• A Bachelor`s degree in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Marine Science, or Animal Science is typically required.

Experience

• 5 to 7 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Agro based firms (incl. Agro Processing/Seed/GM)

Key Skills:

• Experience: Proven experience in aquaculture, fisheries management, or seafood processing, including leadership roles.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of fish biology, aquatic environmental conditions, and modern aquaculture equipment.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving, leadership, communication, and budgetary skills are critical.
  Specialized Knowledge: A deep understanding of fish biology, water chemistry, and aquaculture systems

Responsibilities & Context

Responsibility

• Production Planning: Develop, implement, and monitor production schedules to meet contract requirements, optimizing fish hatchery growth rates and harvesting, as noted by the WageIndicator Foundation.
• Operational Management: Oversee daily farm operations, including spawning, feeding, and water quality monitoring, for both land-based and sea-cage systems
  Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise technicians, laborers, and boat crews to maintain safety standards.
• Quality & Safety Control: Implement HACCP and safety protocols to ensure compliance with environmental and food safety regulations.
  Budget & Resource Management: Manage budgets, inventory, and purchase equipment like nets and machinery.
• Data Analysis: Monitor and record fish stock health to identify diseases or parasites and prepare financial/production reports.
