In the month of December 2022, out of 120 consignment total 117 containers of shrimp export took place from Khulna. To achieve the $500 million target in FY22-23, the EPB (Export Promotion Bureau) had set $46.76 million as a strategic target for the month of December. Though by the end of the month, shrimp export value has reached $26.77 million. It’s $19.97 million behind from the monthly target. Shrimps types & export volume Total one thousand five hundred and seventy one (1571) metric tons of shrimp export has been made from Khulna zone in December. Black Tiger shrimp (P. Monodon) was 1055 MT, Freshwater shrimp (M. Rosenbergii) was 456 MT, Harina shrimp (Metapenaeus monoceros) 28 MT and Chaka shrimp (Penaeus Indicus) 32 MT. It’s 94 MT less than the earlier month. Dayseaday Frozen B.V also from the Netherlands imported 75.77 MT. Censea, Inc from US imported 72.50 MT.
